Gaillardia Aristata (Asteraceae) - Blanket flower

A beautiful, easy to grow native of the western US also known as blanket flower. Thrives in poor well drained soil, flowering through the warm season. We carry the “Burgundy” variety well described by Fedco seeds as “having all the toughness of a prairie naive enhanced with the solid deep wine color of a sophisticated garden-tour specimen”. Flowers over a very long period and well into October. Makes a great cut flower and the seed balls are also an attractive addition to dried arrangements.
