Valeriana Officinalis (Valerianaceae)

Valerian or garden heliotrope, is a strong, upright plant with glossy pinnate leaves and clusters of white, spicy scented flowers rising 3-5 ft. above the plant. Super easy to grow, best in damp soil, but well drained soil and full sun. Will form colonies  and can be competitive. The strong smelling roots have been used as a sedative and to treat anxiety since ancient times. The original Valium.
