In late spring and early summer it produces bluish-purple, white, or pink flowers atop 3’ stems. The beautiful, ferny foliage lasts all summer, creating a nice contrast in the perennial garden. This is an edge of the woodland plant that occurs naturally along stream banks and the edges of meadows, so, part shade, morning sun and evenly moist, cool soil. They will often reflower if deadheaded.
