Achillea (Compositae)
Yarrow is an aromatic, hardy perennial. Small clusters of flowers atop flat, 2-6 in clusters on 2-3 ft. plants that can flower for up to 3 months. Likes a sunny, dry location. Common throughout the Northern Hemisphere, and used culturally and medicinally throughout. The name Achillea refers to a Greek legend that the centaur Chiron taught Achilles about the astringent herb and he carried it with him to the battles of Troy. We offer some colorful cultivars that make a beautiful dried flower. The wild strain is best medicinally.

Selections
There are a dizzying amount of cultivars from this adaptable species. Currently we have ‘Cassis’, a red flowering cultivar and ‘Colorado Mix’, a blend of pastel colors. This year we will also have a white double flowering one called A. Ptarmica ‘Noblessa’.
