Also known as garlic chives, this is the flat leaved, garlic flavored version of perennial chives. Spreads slowly and develops into a nice clump though I have found them not to be very long lived. In summer it puts up 12-15 in. stalk with a dome of white allium flowers. Though they are drought tolerant. garlic chives like a moist, well drained soil and full sun to part shade to really thrive. Native to China, it is medicinal, edible and ornamental!
