Fragaria Vesca (Rosaceae)
Alpine strawberries are the diminutive cousin of our cultivated strawberry (that was bred into existence only 150 years ago). It is a mounding, perennial plant that sends very few runners. It is day neutral and will produce a crop of 1” long, sweet and aromatic berries all summer long. The mounding habit makes it a nice, tidy edging plant.

Our selections
We will have two cultivars. ‘Reugen’ has a red berry and ‘White Soul’ has white berries that have an almost tropical flavor. They also seem to be less attractive to birds.
