A cultivar selection of our native western Ox-Eye Daisy. It is a wild relative of the American sunflower, sometimes referred to as false sunflower, and grows in rough places of the US. It thrives in full sun and poor, dry soil flowering late in the season. “Burning Hearts’ is a selection with purple stems and leaves and yellow flowers with a red eye. ‘Bleeding Hearts’ has a red-orange flower and gorgeous, dark red-purple foliage. Ornamental and a great attractor of pollinators.
