Pulsatilla vulgaris (Ranunculaceae)

$15.00

Known commonly as wind flower, or pasque flower, is a spring flowering plant closely related, and sometimes confused with anemones, and there still seems to be some confusion regarding this plant's classification. It grows in Europe on dry calciferous soil where it produces a  stem that is silver gray and hairy and a root system that can go down 3 ft.   A single purple flower forms atop the 6-12 in plant with ornamental sepals, similar to clematis. It produces a fluffy seed head that can persist for months. Needs a dry sunny location.
