Trollius (Ranunculaceae)
Globe Flowers are a somewhat uncommon perennial with species from Europe and Asia and North America. Buttercups are the namesake for the wonderful genus ranunculus. The finely textured foliage forms a neat mound of lobed leaves that are further divided. Yellow, orange or white, globe shaped flowers rising up on a wiry stem in early summer. Like a double form of a buttercup of which it is related. They like a damp, sunny location with protection from the afternoon sun. They have a reputation as being difficult, but given the right conditions it can form impressive clumps without much trouble. A beautiful, long-lived and well behaved perennial once established. Makes a nice cut flower. Top notch!

Currently we are growing ‘Golden Queen’ one of the cultivars from the T x cultorum species. Some of the nicest ones come from this group and we will have more in the future.
