Artemisia Dracunculus (Compositae) - French Tarragon
The famous French tarragon, and one of the critical fines herbes in French cooking. Though it is related to Russian Tarragon, only true French tarragon has the tingly, anise flavor. It is probably from a chance mutation of the Russian variety, but as it does not produce seed, it can only be grown by dividing and cutting. A little fussy, likes a sunny spot, and a soil that stays moist but not wet.
