Digitalis (Scrophulariaceae) - Foxglove

Known commonly as foxglove, this famous cottage garden plant comes in several species. The more common purpurea are very showy, but are usually true biennials and are a bit more fussy. We carry plants from seeds gathered locally, probably ferruginea. These plants display the yellow, brown and rust colors common to certain species of digitalis. They are also more long lived, persisting for several years, in which time they will have seeded down new plants that spread nicely around the garden in a non weedy way.
