Echinops Bannaticus (Asteraceae) - Globe thistle

The glowing balls and the blue green, thistle-like foliage of the globe flower are well known to gardeners and the cut flower trade. The “Blue Glow” cultivar we carry sends up glowing blue orbs in mid summer that are a magnet for pollinators. We also have a white flowering cultivar called ‘Arctic glow’. Cut back after flowering, it can send up another flush of flowers in the fall.
