Heuchera Sanguinea (Saxifragaceae) - Coral bells or Alum root

A beautiful perennial known commonly as coral bells or alum root, a reference to the use of some species to stop bleeding. This North American native has been the subject of mountains of breeding dating only back to the 1980’s. We carry the ‘Firefly’ variety which produces a dense, variegated mound of nearly evergreen foliage and puts up wiry 12”-16” stems with small, bright red flowers from May to July. Tolerates shade, but also grows in full sun with moist, rich soil.
