Glaucidium palmatum (Ranunculaceae) - Japanese wood poppy
Glaucidiums are a legendary plant in the horticultural world. A shade loving, clumping plant with large pink, sometimes white, flowers in May and early June and large, palmate leaves that remain attractive all season. It also bares a nice ceed pod in the late summer. Which is where I started. I began gathering seeds from Cady’s falls Nursery 4 years ago and now finally have a nice selection of flowering sized plants to offer. It loves a deep, rich soil and a light to medium shade. A top notch, hardy and long lived perennial that will give years of pleasure.
