Hyssopus Officinalis (Lamiaceae) - True hyssop

Hyssop is a hardy aromatic perennial with narrow leaves and small, dark blue flowers in dense 5 in. spikes. Can bloom profusely from Summer until Fall. Grows 1-2 ft. and does best in a warm, sunny spot in slightly alkaline soils. An important herb used for teas, potpourri and as a medicinal cough suppressant and bitter. It is one of the primary ingredients in Chartreuse.
