Inula Helenium (Compositae)

Elecampane is a showy and hardy Eastern Hemisphere perennial. It has a large 4 in. wide yellow flowers on a robust stalk up to 6 ft. with a mound of large basal leaves up to 2 ft. long.  Best grown in full sun, and is adaptable to most soils. A valuable medicinal herb rich in inulin.
